December of 2010, US Army Staff Sergeant Clark Bartholomew reported that he had sustained an injury on his tongue due to a needle that was tucked inside a Triple Stacker in the Hawaii branch of Burger King.

The situation worsened when Bartholomew was forced to spend six days in the hospital as a result of this. Doctors discovered a second needle in his intestines. He filed a lawsuit against the fast-food chain, alleging “extreme physical harm.”
