Avatar (2009)

At this point, it is a well-known fact that James Cameron’s Avatar is the highest-grossing film of all time, amassing over $2.8 billion. The franchise is said to be releasing its sequels this year, so now would be a good time to watch the film if you’re interested. The film’s plot goes like this: Humans have drained Earth’s natural resources, resulting in a serious energy crisis in 2154. On Pandora, a heavily wooded inhabited moon orbiting Polyphemus, a hypothetical gas giant in the Alpha Centauri solar system, the Resources Development Administration harvests unobtanium, a precious mineral. The Na’vi, a species of 10-foot-tall, blue-skinned sapient humanoids that live in harmony with nature and worship a mother goddess named Eywa, live on Pandora, which has a toxic environment for humans.

Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Everyone knows about MCU, in fact, we’re confident in saying that almost everyone in the world has seen at least one MCU film! Earning over $2.7 billion, Avengers: Endgame is the culmination of over 21 films, slowly building up the story for the amazing conclusion regarding the countless plot threads laid out by the various MCU films preceding it. The film’s synopsis goes like this: Tony Stark, alone in space with no food or water, delivers a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply runs out. Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers — Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, and Bruce Banner — must work out a means to resurrect their defeated allies in time for an epic clash against Thanos, the ruthless demigod who wiped out half of the whole universe.

 Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Of course! We couldn’t talk about MCU and Avengers: Endgame without talking about the film that set up the plot of Avengers: Endgame! Avengers: Infinity War amassed over $2 billion, which isn’t a big surprise considering how successful other MCU films are! While Captain America: Civil War gave us a taste of multiple MCU characters on-screen that aren’t part of The Avengers, Avengers: Infinity War raised the bar by including every known character so far into the mix! The film set up the big stage for Avengers: Endgame by giving our heroes a tragic loss, motivating them to be stronger so that they may avenge the fallen. We highly recommend viewing this film if you’re interested in MCU.

Titanic (1997)

Who wouldn’t know about Titanic? Not just the ship, but the film too! As the name indicates, this amazing romance film is based on reports of the sinking of the RMS Titanic and stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of various social classes who fall in love on board the ship during her ill-fated maiden voyage, incorporating both factual and fictitious components. It is the first film to ever reach a gross of over $1.84 billion (currently $2.7 billion) and kept the title of being the highest-grossing film of all time before it was surpassed by James Cameron’s Avatar in 2009.
